By Connor MacDonald:
SLEEP
I crawled into bed
And got under the covers.
Sleep never came easy to me.
I would twist and turn
Thinking about things long since said.
Reminiscing about by-gone lovers.
Drifting off towards the abyss,
I catch something in my room.
A pale lady floating from the window.
She comes towards me for a kiss,
And I can catch her strawberry perfume
As I turn my head towards my pillow.
Sleep comes and goes
And I am alone.
